Dancing Classrooms
Dear parents and guardians:
We’re excited to tell you that Dancing Classrooms will be coming to your child’s school. Our goal is to inspire confidence, teamwork, and a sense of personal achievement in all of our students by turning advanced ballroom dance lessons into a fun and creative group activity.
Our lessons are part of the school day, and led by a Dancing Classrooms teaching artist alongside your child’s teacher. During our 10-week program, your child will learn the steps and cultural histories of the Merengue, Foxtrot, Rumba, Tango, Swing, and Waltz. To celebrate our achievements together, your child will perform in a showcase at their school, where you will be able to watch them show off their new moves and hear them talk about their experience.
As a note, we may take photos of our in-school program for marketing purposes. If you would not like your child to be photographed, or if you have any questions about your child’s participation, please reach out to your school’s principal.
We look forward to dancing with your student’s classroom, and we’re happy to welcome you to our community.
Warm wishes, Dancing Classrooms

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
The first few days of school have been wonderful for Class 5-206. The children are already settling into the routines and working well together. I am sure that your children have been talking to you about the exciting things that have been happening in fifth grade and the work that they have been doing. I am sure you would like to learn more about our classroom routines and our expected areas of study.
I would like to invite you to an orientation meeting on Thursday, September 12th. There will be two sessions, 5:00 - 5:40 and 6:00 - 6:40, followed by our first PTA Meeting at 7:00 pm. The meetings will take place in our classroom, Room 206. This will give us an opportunity to meet one another. It will also be a time when I will let you know about the work your children will be doing this year in fifth grade. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

Healthy Snacks
Dear Parents,
Studies have proven that when chosen properly, snacks can provide children with an extra boost to their mental skills. For this reason, your child will have snack time each day. I encourage you to send a small, healthy snack every day that can be eaten in approximately 15 minutes and require minimal cleanup.
Healthy snacks include crackers, pretzels, dry cereal, string cheese, fruit, veggies, raisins, or graham crackers. Please avoid sugary snacks, cakes, candy, and chips. Also note that beverages other than water are not permitted in the classroom.
Thank you.
